PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain trap having strong water sealing strength against the fluctuation of the air pressure in a drain pipe without increasing the thickness of the drain trap and without reducing the drain capability. SOLUTION: This inverted bowl type drain trap is provided with a water sealing chamber, a water seal, an overflow edge, and a nearly cylindrical bulkhead dividing the water seal into an inflow leg and an outflow leg and removable upward. The water sealing chamber is provided with a flat cross sectional portion wider than the area of the uppermost face of the water seal at least in one range between the height of the overflow edge or below and the height of the lower end of the bulkhead or above. Therefore, this drain trap can have strong water sealing strength against the fluctuation of the air pressure in the drain pipe without increasing the thickness of the drain trap and without reducing the drain capability.
