PURPOSE: A bill releasing device is provided to make the total structure simple and to reduce the number of parts by making a feed system only with a couple of feed rollers and idle rollers and by driving several rollers with one motor. CONSTITUTION: A pick-up roller(4) picks up bills in a cassette(100) one by one. The pick-up roller keeps a contact state with the bills in a cassette locking device. A bill pressing device presses the bills in the cassette to the pick-up roller. A power transmission transfers the withdrawn bills in the cassette and dispenses to a bill releasing port(42) of a main body(1). A clutch device makes the power transmission device driven by one motor(22). A horizontal feed system consists of a couple of feed rollers and a couple of idle rollers. A bill separation and thickness sensing device separates the bill picked up by the pick-up roller, senses the thickness of the bill, and transfers to a controller(18).
