PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a device for estimating image quality, with which a short- time image quality appraisal is possible by a method wherein an outputted image is estimated and formed in consideration of the reflectivity distribution data to the distance from the center of gravity of a dot to a multivalued outputting recording device. SOLUTION: This image quality estimating device is equipped with a reflectivity distribution measuring and holding device 4, which measures and holds the reflectivity distribution of an image outputted from an appraised multivalued outputting image recording device at each interval of gradation, and a reflectivity distribution calculating device, which calculates the reflectivity of an output image from the image data of an appraising image outputted from the inputted appraised multivalued outputting image recording device by employing the recording density data or the data 3 of the outputting machine of the appraised multivalued outputting image recording device. |
