<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint of a steering wheel such that the spring characteristic of a rubberlike elastic body is stable enough so that the effect of absorbing vibrations will not be reduced. SOLUTION: A joint device for a steering wheel comprises a first ball joint 11 interconnecting a displacement shaft 41 displaced in the cross direction of a vehicle body by steering and a wheel support supporting a wheel, the first ball joint 11 connected to one of the displacement shaft 41 and the wheel support, and a second ball joint 21 connected to the other of the wheel support and the displacement shaft. A bush assembly 31 comprising a shaft-like handle portion, a collar 25 disposed concentrically with the outer periphery of the handle portion, and the rubberlike elastic body interposed between the collar and the handle portion is provided at the first ball joint side end of the second ball joint. The bush assembly is fixedly pressed into a cylindrical shaft portion formed at the second ball joint side end of the first ball joint, and a groove communicating with an opening in the cylindrical shaft portion is formed in the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical shaft portion. The groove formed in the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical shaft portion is spiral.</p> |
