PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent irregularities or a waviness from being generated on the surface of a thermoplastic resin layer when a hollow molding is molded. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a hollow molding comprises (a) a process to arrange a rigid sheet between a pair of a top force 22 and a bottom force 23 of a mold, (b) a process to supply a molten thermoplastic resin 2 to a space between both forces 22, 23 and shape the resin 2 without allowing its flow into a space between the top force 22 and a platen 6, (c) a process to form a hollow part 2a at a position between the rigid sheet 6 and the bottom force 23 in the resin 2 by feeding a compressed air to the uncured part of the resin 2, (d) a process to apply a pressurizing force to the resin 2 by the compressed air through the rigid sheet 6 by supplying the compressed air to a space between the top force 22 and the rigid sheet 6 and (e) a process to cool the resin 2.
