PURPOSE: A cap assembly for a secondary cell is provided, which includes an inner gas exhaust device and a positive temperature coefficient(PTC) resister for preventing an inner pressure rise. CONSTITUTION: The cap assembly(50) comprises: a cap(53) having gas exhaust holes(53a); a cap cover(55) having a sealing hole(55a), wherein an inner space is formed by the cap(53) and the cap cover(55); a lower metal plate(57c) having a center hole(57d) peripheral holes(57e) passing the inner gas, wherein an inner space is formed by the cap cover(55) and the lower metal plate(57c); the ring-shaped PTC resister(57b) attached between an upper metal plate(57a) and the lower metal plate(57c); a sealing assembly(60) comprising a piston(65) having a flange part(65a) to cover the sealing hole(55a), a cylinder(63) inserted in the center hole(57d) of the lower metal plate(57c), and a buffer spring such as a tensile spring(66) to open and shut the flange part(65a) according to the pressure applied to the sealing hole(55a).
