METHOD FOR CONTROLLING RESOLUTION OF MONITOR AND LOCKING CLOCK AND SIGNAL PROCESSING APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a resolution of a monitor and locking a clock and a signal processing apparatus thereof are to generate a horizontal output synchronization signal digitally, thereby simplifying a circuit configuration and integrating the system with ease. CONSTITUTION: An initial value is inputted (10). A total number of pixels contained are calculated using a predetermined value and a horizontal input synchronization signal. The first pointer value of a horizontal output synchronization signal is determined using the initial value(12). A reference value is inputted(14). The reference value is added to the pointer value(16) to generate an added value. The added value is subtracted from the total number of the pixels(18). If the subtracted value is greater than the total number of the pixels(20), the added value is subtracted from the total number of the pixels. If the subtracted value is less that the total number of the pixels, the added value is determined as next pointer value(22). If new initial value or the reference value is not inputted(24), the reference value is added to the next pointer.
