摘要 PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for automatically transmitting an emergency signal using GPS and a defense mechanism of a human body are provided to automatically transmit an emergency signal having a GPS position signal of a user and an identification signal as a radio electric wave for a prompt help if an emergency situation exceeding a pre-set reference value is determined by detecting an abnormal state of a human body. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer(4) performs a general control of an emergency signal automatic transmitting unit(20). A GPS receiver(10) receives GPS signals transmitted from more than three GPS satellites(6) through an antenna(8) for 24 hours, and obtains the current position signal (a position coordinate and a height coordinate) of the user. A human body sensor(12) senses at least one abnormal state according to various changes (defense mechanism) of a human body according to an emergency situation and inputs it to the microcomputer(4). A setting unit(14) sets a reference value for being compared with a human body change value inputted from the human body sensor(12). An ID setting unit(16) assigns an ID by users for identifying them. A memory(18) stores various reference signals and programs to be compared with the pre-set ID, an emergency data, other data and input signals. A display unit(20) displays operation state of the emergency signal automatic transmitting unit(2) and various processing result on a screen or in a blinking method. The microcomputer(4) receives the position signal received from the GPS receiver(10) and the amount of change sensed by the human body sensor(12) compares them with the reference value of the setting unit(14), and outputs an emergency signal if the position signal and the change amount goes beyond the reference value. When the emergency signal is determined to be transmitted from the microcomputer, the current position signal of the user obtained by the GPS receiver(10), the user ID assigned by the ID setting unit(16) and the emergency signal stored in the memory unit(18) are modulated by a carrier and transmitted as a radio frequency through a radio frequency transmitter(22) and an antenna(24).
