PURPOSE: A meal service method prevents food poisoning and keeps food selectively in hot or cool condition. CONSTITUTION: A meal service method comprises a step to serve cooked rice in a rice bowl, side dishes in a side dish container and broth in a heat insulating container and put the rice bowl and side dish container in a vat(5), a step to move the broth heat insulating container and the vat(5) near each food distributing place by a delivery car or an elevator and keep the vat(5) in a food storage(1) with cooling, heating and sterilizing function installed there and a step to take out the vat(5) from the food storage(1), move the vat(5) to each food distributing place with the broth heat insulating container, to take out the rice bowl and the side dish container from the vat(5) and distribute and to make the broth self-served.
