PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for estimating a person's body fat percent from the person's BMI. SOLUTION: A person's body fat percent is estimated from the person's BMI by the multiple regression analysis using the reciprocal of BMI (1/BMI) the an independent variable. Variables which are potentially independent and can be obtained easily such as age, sex and race are also used to obtain the accurate estimated value of the body fat percent. As for the device for estimating the body fat percent, a calculator, a smart calculator and the Internet web- site can be used. |
