PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device in which secondary voltage prevents breaking of elements, which occurs due to ignition surge generated during the period of electric discharge and which uses a cheap, highly reliable intelligent- type IGBT. SOLUTION: Zener voltage of a Zener diode between the side of a collector electrode of IGBT element and a gate electrode, is reduced by 100 V or more below the bulk withstand voltage. Further, when Zener current value is 10 to 20 mA, the Zener diode in which operating resistance is 5 kΩor less, is arranged between the collector electrode and the gate electrode.
