PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tundish, in which the floatability of non-metallic inclusion in molten steel is improved and also, the yield can be improved by reducing the residual molten steel at the finish stage of casting. SOLUTION: A pouring pot 12 in the pouring zone of the molten steel and a stopper and sliding nozzle pot 14 in the supplying zone into a mold, are arranged and a shelf part 15 having <=10% gradient is projectingly arranged between the pouring pot 12 and the stopper and sliding nozzle pot. In the case of using m for length of the shelf part 15, Q for weight of the molten steel passed on the shelf part, w for width of the shelf part andρfor specific gravity of the molten steel, an upper weir 17 dipped into the molten steel is arranged above the shelf part and also, a lower weir 16 is proejctingly arranged on the shelf part so as to satisfy the formula of m>Q/(0.072×w×ρ).
