METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACRYLIC SYRUP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic syrup not requiring an inert gas during reaction. SOLUTION: (1) A monomer in an amount of 20-70 wt.% based on the whole amount of a raw material comprising methyl methacrylate as a main component is heated to the boiling point of a composition in a system within 2 hours, (2) a chain transfer agent is added at a point of time when the composition in the system reaches its boiling point and a reflux starts, (3) the monomer in an amount of 80-30 wt.% based on the whole amount of the raw material is continuously or dividedly added for a time selected from a range of 0.1-10 hours while a reaction temperature is set at the boiling point of the composition in the system and the reflux is maintained and (4) a polymerization initiator is continuously or dividedly added simultaneously with the addition of the monomer and the reaction is carried out.
