PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably transferring the liquid in a tank by using a two-stage air-lift pump. SOLUTION: The two-stage air-lift pump 1 with the two water lifting pipes 3 and 7 joined through a connecting pipe is vertically set in the tank with the level of the liquid in the tank fluctuating between the highest water level HWL and the lowest water level LWL. When the liquid in the tank is transferred to another tank, the bottom of the connecting pipe 10 is positioned at the HWL or higher.
