PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter unit in a gas cleaning device in which maintenance including replacing a filter can be carried out easily and by which gas cleaning efficiency can be improved. SOLUTION: A filter carrying a photocatalyst is supported in a frame freely detachably incorporated into the casing of a gas cleaning device so as to form a cylinder, and an ultraviolet light source is arranged in an axial part of this filter. In this state, gas is allowed to flow from the direction orthogonally crossing the circumferential face of the filter.
