PURPOSE: A heat resisting stainless steel is provided which has high strength and superior heat resistance by adding appropriate amount of tungsten (W), niobium (Nb), nitrogen (N) and cerium (Ce) as necessity requires and controlling a ratio (Cr/Ni)eq of alloy constituents to 1.48 or more. CONSTITUTION: The heat resisting stainless steel having high strength and superior heat resistance comprises 0.08 wt.% or less of C, 2.0 wt.% or less of Mn, 0.045 wt.% or less of P, 0.045 wt.% or less of S, 1.0 wt.% or less of Si, 18 to 22 wt.% of Cr, 8 to 12 wt.% of Ni, 1.0 to 2.5 wt.% of W, 0.1 to 0.2 wt.% of N, 0.2 to 0.6 wt.% of Nb, 0.045 wt.% or less of Ti, 0.005 wt.% or less of B and a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities, wherein a ratio of (Cr/Ni)eq is 1.48 or more.
