PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jacket insert die to have high toughness at a cylinder part required for high roughness since a thermal stress is exerted and have high hardness at a base part required for high hardness since a friction force is exerted. SOLUTION: A whole of a water jacket insertion die is hardened and regulated to rigidity necessary to the hole wall of a through-hole for slide. Thereafter, the anti-base part side of a cylinder part is tempered and adjusted to toughness with which the base part is prevented from rupture by a thermal stress generated resultant from contact with a molten metal.
