PURPOSE: A remote control method for a terminal using SMS(Short Message Service) is provided to control a user's terminal in a remote place by sending a control code with a security code through SMS using another terminal or PC. CONSTITUTION: If a data burst message that a user sent through another terminal or PC is received(S1), a microprocessor confirms whether the first part of the message is a security code(S2). In case that the first part of the message is the security code, the microprocessor judges whether the next part of the security code is one of the control codes previously stored in the flash ROM(S3). If the control code is a calling restriction setup code, the microprocessor locks the terminal so that the current bearer cannot make a telephone call(S4). In case that the control code is a calling restriction release code, the microprocessor unlocks the terminal(S4-1). Then the microprocessor sends a character message, indicating that the received control code has been executed, to the terminal used when the user sent the short message(S5).
