PURPOSE: An electric power reduction transformer is provided to reduce power consumption and lengthen useful life of devices by uniformly supplying effective power and improving power factor. CONSTITUTION: A transformer comprises a plurality of taps, and supplies in a stabilized manner an electric power having a size required for the load connected to the second side of the transformer, by converting the voltage and current of reactive power applied to the first side of the transformer into an effective power with a predetermined size. The voltage of the first side is dropped from 220V to 200V of the second side, and the current of the first side is dropped from 30A TO 27A of the second side. Then, the current of 24.5A is circulated toward the first side. The taps includes the first tap having a power factor improvement of 7.5%, the second tap having a power factor improvement of 10% and the third tap having a power factor improvement of 12.5%.
