<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively produce an artificial stone material having excellent strength and homogeneity regardless of the size of the stone material when producing the massive artificial stone material by using carbonation reaction from CaO-containing waste materials and/or the slag generated in an iron and steel production process as chief raw material. SOLUTION: In the method for forming the massive stone material by consolidating the raw material for the stone material consisting of the CaO-containing waste materials and/or the slag generated in the iron and steel production process as the chief raw material by the carbonation reaction, the raw material for the stone material mixed with water content is load into a vessel 1 to form a raw material packed bed and gaseous raw material consisting of carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide-containing gas is blown from the bottom of the vessel in the state of maintaining a closed space in the vessel, by which the raw material packed bed A is carbonized and solidified mainly with the CaCO3 formed by the carbonation reaction of the CaO included in the chief raw material as a binder and the stone material lumped with the raw material packed bed is obtained.</p> |
