The optical signal processor has two optical paths, the first (26) with an optical modulator (30), and the second (28) with a fixed phase relationship. Light is passed through the unit with an input mechanism (22) and sampler (16). A second signal input (12) passes to the modulator section. A combiner (24) combines the output from the first two paths.
