The antenna consists of a coil in the form of a series of electrically conducting spiral tracks (S1, S2, Sn) which are printed on a flat support (S), without folds, made from a flexible or rigid dielectric and non-conducting material about 0.5 mm thick. The tracks are printed in two layers, one on each side of the support, and are connected through a metal-coated hole in the support. In addition, the tracks on one side of the support can be printed in line with the gaps between the tracks on the other side. The support can have a coating or layer of adhesive on one side for attaching to part of a vehicle such as a door pillar, rear number plate lighting bar, dashboard or trunk.
