Production of bainite from steel parts comprises austenizing the parts; quenching to a starting temperature (T2) above the martensite temperature (TM) of the parts; isothermally storing the parts at the starting temperature over a first time period ( delta tiso,1); and isothermally storing the parts in an oven, salt warm bath or oil bath at a finishing temperature (T3) above starting temperature over a second time period ( delta tiso,2). Preferred Features: The austenitic structure of the steel parts is converted into a pure bainitic structure.
