Telescopic pipe link unit for sub-surface mining minimizes the time required for conveyer re-alignment following coal face advance

A sub-surface mine has a conveyer system (22) receiving e.g. coal from an advancing coal face and requiring the regular repositioning of the adjacent conveyer feed, and a change the in the gap between two units. The gap between the two is bridged by a telescopic unit having a pipe (25) within a support stand (4). The telescopic unit has several sections (26,27,28) with detachable castor mounted stands (29,30). Positioning is effected by a push-cylinder (38) and fine adjustment (31) forming part of the tube (25).
