TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT NEURONAL RESCUE

Methods are provided for the treatment and/or prevention of neuronal damage following a CNS insult. Specifically, the methods comprise modulating the cerebral cortex temperature during the recovery phase of a CNS insult and the administration of a neurologic therapeutic agent. The modulation in cerebral temperature is such as to extend the period of time following the CNS insult during which the neurologic therapeutic agent is capable of eliciting a neuroprotective effect.
