<p>The present invention provides a lockset mechanism (20) having a semi- permanent mechanical connection between the interior and exterior components thereof. The lockset mechanism (20) includes an exterior cylinder assembly (22) releasably coupled to a mounting plate (24), an interior cylinder assembly (26) having a locking blade (60) interdisposed between the mounting plate (24) and the interior cylinder assembly (26) for providing a semi- permanent mechanical connection. The locking blade (60) is rotatably positionable from an unlocked position wherein the interior cylinder assembl y (26) is uncoupled from the mounting plate (24) to a locked position wherein the interior cylinder assembly (26) is coupled to the mounting plate (24) up on rotation of a knob assembly (58).</p> |
