摘要 A mineral oil test unit has a chilling section with either a Stirling circuit, or propellant gas (10). The test unit also has a heat transfer element with dry contacts mounted on the chilling section, and in contact with the sample holder cell bringing it to the required temperature. The test unit has a compression module (16) linked to chill probe (17) and an alternating current power supply. The module varies the pressure as required of high pressure helium working gas held in a sub-divided gas chamber. The gas expands within the compression module, probe and probe end (18), maintaining a low temperature as required. The test unit further has a heat transfer element with a dry contact (11) fitted at the same height as the chill probe first end (18). The end probe maintains contact with the sample holder cell, bringing it to the required temperature. The heat transfer element with dry contact is made of copper tube and surrounds the sample cell and is fitted with a copper sleeve.
