A plastic mounting plate (10) is fitted with sleeves (20) with length marked off in centimeters. Clearance holes for the sleeves are drilled through the wall external finish (33), thermal insulation (32) and holes, suitable for wall plugs (22), in the brickwork (31) to line up with the sleeves. After cutting off the sleeves to an appropriate length the plate/sleeve assembly is positioned against the wall and secured by screws (23)
