The knee guard, projected by a vehicle airbag inflation to restrain vehicle occupants at their knees on a collision impact, has a support plate (10) and a load distribution plate (11) between the vertical side limits, each with a side catch strip (15). At least two further catch strips (21,22) are at the horizontal upper and lower lateral limits of the support (10) and load distribution (11) plates, to contain the diagonal movements of the inflating airbag (27).
