The invention concerns a self-contained digital data recorder (1) for recording ground noise at a site, through seismological sensors (7, 8, 9), feeding H and V data in the form of analog signals, said recorder comprising: an acquisition and analog-to-digital conversion card, said card comprising at least two analog channels and a digital outlet, each analog channel comprising an input, an analog signal amplifier (13) with programmable gain and a filter (14), an analog multiplexer (15) being provided between the filters (14) and an analog-to-digital converter (16); a user interface (3) enables the display (17, 21, 22, 23, 24), the sound reproduction (25) and data input (18, 19, 20); a removable storage device (4) for storing data, a control unit (5) comprising an operating programme, said programme comprising means for parametering recording conditions, recording and signalling the end of recording.
