The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing information on moving objects (2) by an imaging apparatus (3). According to the embodiments, the speed of the objects is also determined based on information provided by the imaging apparatus. The imaging apparatus (3) is adapted to generate a plurality of images of the objects. When processing an image of said plurality of images, it is determined whether the image is the first image in which an object is present based on the determined speed of the objects.
