New isolated polynucleotide encoding phosphofructokinase A of coryneform bacteria, useful, when overexpressed, for increasing fermentative production of amino acids

Isolated polynucleotide (I), from coryneform bacteria, is (i) at least 70% identical with a sequence that encodes a polypeptide containing sequence (2; 343 amino acids (aa)); (ii) encodes a polypeptide containing a sequence at least 70% identical with (2); (iii) is complementary to (i) or (ii); or (iv) contains at least 15 consecutive nucleotides (nt) of (i)-(iii). An independent claim is also included for production of L-aa, especially lysine, by fermenting a coryneform bacterium in which the pfkA gene, or related nucleic acid, is amplified, especially overexpressed.
