GUIDE TUBE AND APPLICATION METHOD THEREFOR

A guide tube and a method of inserting a treating tube by the guide tube, capable of facilitating the insertion of a treating tube by pulling toward the mouth a guide tube inserted into an alimentary tract for fixing in advance to thereby linearize the alimentary tract when the treating tube is to be inserted into a body cavity. The guide tube, used for inserting the treating tube into a body cavity, has a lumen penetrating therethrough across the entire length thereof, a spiral or braided reinforcing material within the wall constituting the guide tube, and a means for fixing the guide tube to the inside of the alimentary tract in the vicinity of the distal end thereof and with the lumen of the guide tube kept open, whereby the treating tube can be inserted into a target body cavity by pulling the guide tube toward the mouth to thereby linearize the alimentary tract.
