<p>The publication discloses a method for managing the channels contained in a transmission route. In the method, guaranteed channels are opened for each subscriber on the basis of channel-opening requests, always up to a previously agree maximum number of guaranteed channels. In this case, a guaranteed channel refers to a connection channel, which can only be broken on the basis of a connection-breaking request sent by the user of the connection. In this case, the user of the connection may be, for example, the original subscriber of the connection or the party responding to the connection. In addition to this, if the subscriber is already using the previously agreed maximum number of guaranteed channels, the subscriber may still open one or more additional channels according to programmable conditions. In this case an additional channel refers to a connection channel, which may be broken, in a loading situation of the transmission route, by the action of the operator providing the transmission route, without the user of the connection her or himself closing the connection.</p> |
