<p>A two-wire controlling and monitoring system (10) for in particular irrigati on of localised areas of soil according to an aspect of the invention comprises a water pipeline (16), a first plurality of controllable irrigation valves (42 ), a second plurality of fields sensors (54) measuring specific irrigation parameters, and a third plurality of localised irrigation control units (18) . The third plurality of localised irrigation control units (18) each comprise s a sensor decoder (52) connected to a specific field sensor (54) of the secon d plurality of field sensors (54) and/or a line decoder (44) connected to a specific controllable irrigation valve (42) of the first plurality of controllable irrigation valves (42). The two-wire controlling and monitoring system (10) further comprises a controller and power supply unit (30) having a set of schedules of instructions and supplying power by applying a first alternating DC voltage signal to a two-wire cable (28) interconnecting the controller and power supply unit (30) and the third plurality of localised irrigation control units (18). The two-wire cable (28) provides the power fr om the controller and power supply unit (30) to each of the third plurality of localised irrigation control units (18). The controller and power supply uni t (30) transmits the schedules of instructions to the third plurality of localised irrigation control units (18) through the two-wire cable (28) and receives the specific irrigation parameters from the third plurality of localised irrigation control units (18) through the two-wire cable (28).</SD OAB></p> |
