EXTENDED TOP PANEL AND BLANK FOR PACKAGES

A package (20) with an extended top panel (30) has a front wall (26), a rear wall (28) and a pair of parallel side walls (24a, b). The package (20) includes at least one top panel (30) that seals to the package (20) at a sealing region (33). A plane (PSR 20) through the sealing region is spaced from a central vertical plane (Pc20) through the package (20). The extended top panel (30) can extend to the rear wall (28) at the sealing region (33). A second lesser top panel (131) can extend from the rear wall (28) and can seal with the extended front panel (130) at an off-center top fin (132). A closure (22) is accommodated on the top panel (30) that has a cap (23) having a diameter greater than the diameter of an aperture (48) disposed through the extended top (30) panel. A blank (50) for the package (20) is also disclosed herein. The package (20) can include a handle (300) attached to its top fin (32) for carrying and displaying the package (20).
