The invention relates to a multichannel sound editing system for sound engineering and electroacoustic transmission applications for editing virtual-real acoustic environments on the basis of multi-loudspeaker standards. The inventive method is characterized by the dimensional representation of acoustic events by binaural and transaural editing and by controlling, in accordance with the desired sound positions, the signal level within a multi-loudspeaker environment.
