A metal, ceramic, enamel or glass object is coated at least partially with a non-adhesive coating (I). (I) contains multi-modal fluoropolymers and comprises at least 2 layers consisting of a base layer directly in contact with the substrate and a top layer. The base layer is a mixture of a fluoropolymer and a binder consisting of polyamide, polyimide, polyether sulphone, polyphenylene sulphide and/or silicone resin. The top layer is a multi-modal mixture of a non-melting fluoropolymers. The weight ratio of total binder content to fluoropolymer in the base layer is 2:1 - 1:4. The base layer contains at least two fluoropolymers with differing particle size distributions. The top layer is free of binder.
