The electric motor is asynchronous having changeable rotor diameter. It has greater functional potentials. The electric motor consists of a stator (2) with winding (3) and magnetic circuit (4) fitted to housing (1) and a rotor (5) resting in housing (1) with a winding (short-circuited) (6) and a ferromagnetic core (7). Magnetic circuit (4) of stator (2) and core (7) of rotor (5) have axially orientated stator (8) and rotor (9) plates of radial lateral arrangement. Rotor (5) includes two axially connected windings (8) opposite to which ferromagnetic endpieces (10) are resting in radial holes of magnetic circuit (4) fitted in a fixed manner in pairs to nonferromagnetic plates (11) with symmetrically chamfered ends (12, 13). Plates (11) are connected to housing (1) by a driving mechanism (14). Plates (9) are fixed by groups to radially resting cross-bars (15) in the rotor (5) with symmetrically chamfered ends (16, 17). Cross-bars (15) are connected to the rotor (5) by a second driving mechanism (18). Springs (19) pressing plates (11) with the end-pieces (10) are also designed in the direction to the motor axis, and springs (20) pressing the cross-bars (15) to the rotor plates (9) in opposite direction. The axial conductors (21) of the rotor winding (6) for each cross-bar (15) are connected in their ends by segments (22) which are interconnected. 3 claims, 5 figures
