A combine harvester (10) comprises a threshing and separating arrangement (16) mounted to a main frame (11), which includes a generally cylindrical chamber (26) having a generally longitudinal axis, and a separating concave assembly (101). The arrangement further includes a rotor assembly (27) mounted for rotation in said chamber and comprising a generally cylindrical rotor body (50) with a separating section (58) associated with said separating concave assembly. This separating section comprises a plurality of longitudinal elements (66, 68) having a leading, generally longitudinally arranged crop engaging face and a plurality of transverse elements (70, 71) having a generally transversely arranged crop engaging edge (72). The transverse elements assist in preventing the roping of crop material between the rotor (27) and the separating concave assembly (101).
