The cylinder has a main body (11) with bore (12), containing a piston (14). A head-sided pressure chamber (18) and a rod-sided pressure chamber (19) with connections (18A,B) are located on opposite sides of the piston. A sleeve (15) is fitted sealed into the rod aperture (13) in the cylinder to move forwards and backwards. A rod (16) passing through the sleeve moves relative to it and is connected to the piston. There are stop elements for the sleeve, and first and second locking elements, to lock sleeve and rod when the rod moves backward to the sleeve, and when it moves forwards.
