The bearing unit incorporates radial bearings (19) located in hermetically sealed bearing cartridges (14,22). The outer side of each cartridge forms an outer cup (17), and the inner side forms an inner cup (18) pressed over the associated knuckle pin part (13,15). Outer and inner cups are supported against each other via the radial bearing. A ring aperture (23) between the cups and facing away from the cup bases (20,21), contains sealing elements (24).
