The oscillator has a tunable oscillation circuit and a switch (SD) for expanding the tuning range. Two coils (L1a,L1b) are connected in series with a tuning element (C4), whereby both coils are connected together via the switch and a further coil (L2b) is connected in series with one of these coils and is coupled to a reference potential (G) at its other end.
