The space frame is formed from a hollow profile (2) filled with a dry material, bent about an abutment (6), and the outer side of the bent section is finished by a tool. The tool esp. roller (3) is moved under pressure at the same time or synchronously with the bending movement, along the outside of the forming bent section. The tool (4) is moved along a path, which is curved in approx. the same direction as bend being formed.
