The invention relates to a device for receiving, orienting and centering raw glass, comprising a base plate, a glass support plate located therein, at least two counter-running cradle elements which can be pushed approximately radially to the base plate and at least two centered clamping elements which are located on the cradle elements and grip the periphery of the raw. Said clamps are movable in the vertical direction. The inventive device also comprises at least three counter retaining pins located at a distance from each other on the cradle elements. The ends of said pins lie on a plane on the support and project slightly from the edge into the surface area of the raw glass coming into contact with the upper side of the raw glass when the clamping elements are moved in an upwards direction.
