The brake has a brake disc mechanism that brakes wheel rotation by pressing a friction element against a brake disc, a brake disc wall thickness detector, a controller for controlling the contact state between the brake disc and the friction element on the basis of the disc wall thickness so that the friction element is brought into contact with a relatively thick section of disc more strongly than with a relatively thin section.
