The optical recording medium of the present invention comprises a substrate, a recording layer, and a protective substrate laminated to said recording layer interposing an adhesive layer, wherein said adhesive layer contains at least one copolymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer, an ethylene-acrylate copolymer, an ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer and an ethylene-methacrylate copolymer, and has a Vicat softening point of from 65 DEG C to 95 DEG C. The process for producing it is also provided.
