The invention relates to a radio communication system that uses a TD/CDMA subscriber separation method and whose radio interface is organized according to a TDD method. The signals transmitted uplink from a subscriber station are evaluated by a base station in a channel estimation step. The base station then predistorts the data and a training sequence of a burst to be transmitted to the subscriber station in the downlink direction. The subscriber station chooses a receiving method suitable for the receipt of the data elements on the basis of a channel impulse response of the known training sequence.
