A mobile satellite communication terminal which has a ground terminal function for communication through a ground base station (9), and a satellite terminal function for communication through a satellite (10), wherein the mobile satellite communication terminal includes a common section (101) provided with a microphone (104) and a speaker (105), a satellite communication RF/IF section (102) provided with a ground communication antenna (107) and a satellite communication antenna (108), and a hinge (111) for rotatably joining the common section (101) and the satellite communication RF/IF section (102). By adjusting the hinge angle, the common section (101) and the satellite communication RF/IF section (102) are integrated during carrying and ground communication. Further, by adjusting the hinge angle, during satellite communication, the common section (101) and the satellite communication RF/IF section (102) assume a positional relation in which they are rotated through a predetermined angle, and the distance between the head of the user and the satellite communication antenna (108) becomes longer, so that a stabilized radiation pattern is produced. |
