The invention relates to a heat exchanger with ellipsoidal tubes, employed particularly in the cooling system of a motor vehicle equipped with a combustion engine, as main cooler of the engine cooling system. According to the invention, the heat exchanger comprises an inlet basin (1) secured, by means of a sealing gasket (2), to a base plate (3) having a lower side fender (4A) attached thereon. An upper side fender (4B) is secured in its turn to another base plate (7) with a discharge basin (5) attached thereon by means of a sealing gasket (6), and some side fenders (8A and 8B) are located opposite said fenders (4A and 4B), a radiant member (9) consisting of some ellipsoidal tubes (9A) and some flat fins (9B) being located between the base plates (7).
